Candle Safety & Tips

All of Storybook Candle Company's candles are made in small, hand poured batches. Due to fluctuating temperatures here in Ohio, some candles may have slight variations in color and scent and may contain 'frosting' which is a thin frosted-like layer on the wax and is a natural reaction to soy wax when temperatures are fluctuating.

It is extremely important to make sure your wick is trimmed down to 1/8″ – 3/16″. This is not only safer for you, but it allows the candle a stronger and longer burn.

Never leave your candle burning unattended.

Keep candle out of reach from children and pets.

Never touch or move a candle while it is burning or the wax is liquified.

Do not leave loose debris near the flame, which could cause damage or a fire.

Never use a candle as a night light or while you are falling asleep.

Avoid drafts and vents.

If your flame seems too high, please make sure to blow out the candle, let it cool completely and then re trim the wick. The wick should be between 1/8" - 3/16".
